Has anyone had experience with Masterlink and do you feel the Mastering results are worth the investment.

Hey Sam, You made the pants TOO BIG:]

Well, oversized pants, as Bruce would say, "...it depends."

What gear will you use to pass on to the Masterlink? No doubt, the Masterlink is a fine piece of gear, especially with its upgrade.

I faced the same question a month ago. Did I want to mix from an MD8 into the Masterlink? The results probably would have been ok; however, I decided to upgrade my "entire" sound chain. So, I got the Yam 2816 and am now going through the manual and waiting for a video from Yamaha.

I think I've mentally got the box figured out but I'm in no hurry as I "still have my MD8 plugged in."

So, if you are already computerized and doing digital, maybe the Masterlink would enhance your set up. If not, you might think about the 2816 since it comes with a built in CDR.

Once again, "...it depends."

:D :D :p

Just bought a Masterlink couple of weeks ago, and so far, it has far exceeded my expectations. I was mixing down from a Roland 890 to a Phillips CD Recorder (from digi outs of 890). I don't know how, but was losing a lot of volume and detail. With the Masterlink, all the detail is there - clear as a bell, and, using their normalizer, the volumes are great as well. Only wish I had bought it a long time ago. It also has Compression and EQ, but I never use those. Go for it - you won't be sorry. BTW, I paid $995 for mine, new-in-the-box, with upgrade - from Full Compass.

Best Regards,

Charley
