just heard that there is a "new" software version on the Masterlink (version 2.0). has anyone upgraded their "current" Masterlink to "new" specs and if so HOW (did you download update from Alesis and burn to a CD and then load into the Masterlink via the CD)??. just curious. i am just itching to buy one of these units. i guess i keep waiting for an update that will allow the Masterlink to apply "multiband compression" and "expander/noise reduction" processing to the signal. then it would TRULY be a "DAT/"FINALIZER"/CD RECORDER" all-in-one unit. do any current Masterlink users ALSO apply external processing via a "Finalizer" or similar unit?? never-the-less,..owning the Masterlink still seems to be extremely beneficial to "home recordists" on a budget. cheers.

Yo Cratinus of Mt. Olympus:

Just looking at the latest issue of EM; there's an ad for the Masterlink but no mention of the 2.0. It would be wise to ask if buying one.

Also, a nice review for the HHB CDR830 called, BURNIT.

Ad price is 795 pezzutos; which would probably be less from a retailer, as per usual.

Anyone have any gnus about the HHB 830?

Finally, how long does it take to make a CD using up, say, 60 minutes of the alloted time?

Is it slow, medium, or fast with the Alesis? The HHB? Any of them?

Thanks,

Green Hornet
