My new Masterlink has an error now when I go to make a CD. It says " HDCD to reset CD write TOC. Has anyone had this before? I emailed Alesis but good luck from them with there help. The machine locks up and I have to turn off to unlock. I cant make a CD but I can play material. Any ideas short of taking it back to Guitar Center??Jim

I had that once... I was mucking around with the start and end points of a song and somehow trashed the markers... (bear paws, I guess...)

I deleted the track and restored it from a backup and had no further trouble....

Make sure you've upgraded to the latest OS version as well... just because it's new doesn't mean it has the latest OS on it!

The latest version is 2.14...................!

I have had this happen when using inferior CDRs. Try switching to a CDR that is placarded for "digital audio", and your problem may go away. I have also had this error message when trying to play a CD burned by an inferior machine, like the Phillips dual burner deck. The ML burner/player is not tolerant of errors. That's one reason I like it. Al

That's true... bad client disks or simply a damaged disc has caused that for me too....

it worked

Blue, I backed up my playlist on CD then reformated the Masterlink which erased the tracks and tried it again and all is well. Thanks a lot for that tip!! And Al, you are also correct with the Phillips Cd recorder. I put a CD I burned on the Phillips recorder and it came up with the same error...and spit it out. I'm really getting to love the Masterlink. When I first used the DSP I was like...what? I dont hear anything..mostly the eq. Ya have to wait a sec. for it to kick in. It has really added a lot to my mixes. Thanks you guys!! Jim
