hi
I'd like to buy masterkeyboard but don't know which would be the best. I need just one midi out. It might be also a stage piano with a couple of progs. I need very good piano sound and a hammer action keyboard. I can spend on this about 1300 USD. Which one would you recommend?

OK, since no on else is gonna say anything... Normally you would have a debate going for a couple of pages by now. These guys must be outside or something today, being the weekend and all.
Could you be a little more specific? What do you mean my master keyboard? Do you have other keyboards that will be "slaves"? Are you gonna use modules, hook it up to pc for recording, are piano sounds the only kind of sounds you need, what kind of music will you be using it for, do you need a certain number of keys, are there any other features you need or want, and is it important to have other sounds or capabilities in the future? And do you care if it's used?

I suppose that the Fatar Studio logic is an alright buy, but I think you can be happier still.

Find yourself a good 88 key weighted digital piano. Shop around til you find one that you really like. Hopefully the sounds won't be too bad either. Use THAT as your main controller.

I use a Roland RD-100. The action suits me very much. The sounds are okay, not great, but the action is what it's all about for me on that one.

Thank you, guys. What I need is a keyboard with weighted keys - or hammer acction. I work with gigastudio and some other vst insrtuments. I want it to have some progs especially piano/rhodes/strings - but it could be just keyboard with a modul - just to be able to use it without the computer. I'll take a look at roland and studiologic. what music store would you recomend -I mean the lowest prices on the market.

thanks again

For $1300 you could probably get a kurzweil k2500s used. It would do everything you've asked for then some with top quality.

Research the korg tritons too.

and yamaha cs2x and cs6x.. allthough the keys may not be what you're looking for...

also check out ther yamaha motif 8 ... you'd be able to sample some really sweet grand pianos on that one, and the keys are excellent..

Check ou the Kawai MP9500. Best hammer action on the market. Well, actually, that is a pompous statement best left to those that are too stupid to realize that their opinion is just an opinion and maybe not THE opinion. So the point is, the Kawai hammer action, originally on the MP{ 9000 which I have, is really nice. I truly love playing it becuase I was raised on pianos and love the feel of a Steinway. The Kawai is my choice. Truly a decent piano experience.

One other interesting point on the subject. the Kawai is a nice piano experience however, still, all electronic "pianos" and midi "pianos" sampled, modeled or whatever all have sustain pedals that are on off switches. In actuality, the sustain pedal on a real piano is not on off but infinitely graded with all sorts of subtleties and different positions and ways to use it. Creative pedaling is a very important aspect of piano technique and pinao artistry. So far, this has not even been approached by sampled pianos. So, in the end, a pinao is still a piano whereas every synth and samper is not. Just a thought.
