I just started mastering with my hardware gear instead of plugins. I have a firepod and figured it all out so far except I can't monitor the Mastered signal.

What I do is run the main outs to the inputs in my compressor then run those outs into my firepod Inputs 1&2. I record enable a stereo track in Cubase and then hit record and then I have my compressed master track, but I can't listen to my master as its running, I can only hear the dry track because I get bad feedback if I turn on the monitor enable. It works fine in the end but I have to keep recording a little of the master then playing it back to see how it sounds and I just do that over and over until I like how it sounds. Is there anyway to monitor my actual Mastered Signal?

Thanks

Monitor your inputs instead of your outputs.

Use the master insert to insert the compressor.

Put the compressor between the computer outputs and the input of the board.

I have the same situation what I do is I run the output 3 and 4 to my comp and eq and then back in through the "pre amp ins" and record a stereo track so i still monitor out of the normal outputs. But to do this you have to assign your outputs in the DAW to output 3 and 4 then just monitor the inputs like said above
If that made any sense.
Matt
