Mastering Bangers, or loud music

usually in the mixing stage i turn the track down so it wont slip. i have no idea if i should export the vocals then the beat, or export the track all together then master? i have no clue about mastering. but i have waves 9. so when mastering a loud track, what could i do to really bring that baby out.
 
Allow me to translate --

He has mixes that aren't holding up to his attempts at bringing them to "commercial volume" -- He has some Waves plugins -- Evidently, with the V9 installer. Not mentioning WHICH plugs he has, we can only guess. That said, it's pretty irrelevant to the whole situation anyway (although he probably doesn't know that - yet).
 
Had to learn. The definitions for "mastering" and "producer" caused much confusion for years.
 
the answer is to hire somebody that knows what they are doing, to master your tunes.
