Hey!

I have a question for all those who know more than me...so i have a question for all of you.

I'm trying to cut the budget, but not cut corners...

and i'm lookingat outboard gear...compressor, efx processing, reverb unit, etc etc.

Now I was also lookingat at Waves Native Gold Bundle.

I will be running Cubase sx from a computer with the mixer being a mackie 24 x 8. Would the waves Gold do what I need or would it be something that I'd buy in addition to all this? I want either one or the other for mastering and efx, so I'm looking at different options.

Let me know what you guys think!

and if not waves, then what would you purchase...budget? no more than $1000 for it...so either waves bundle or gear adding up to 1000 that would do the same things.

Thanks!

The waves plugs are great to use with computer recording if this is what you do. There are dozens in the Waves Gold Bundle. How many hardware units will you get with 1G...maybe 3 or 4 ??
The reason plug ins are so much cheaper is there is no metal manufacturer, no circuit boards, no resisitors and capacitors, no knobs and switches to make, etc... which is what is required of hardware. Then you need a rack to put em in, cables to hook em up, etc...If you want the most for your money, stick with the plug-ins.

Provided your computer can handle the cpu load of course!
My favorite reason to use plugins is that you can run multiple instances of each one.
