Hi All!

I just bought a MXL 1006 Mic and in my poor opinion think that is a good mic for the price ($79!)

What do you think about it friends?

Thanks

mine didnt...but i saw it sold separately at zzounds for $29.99. that's a 10 dollar difference...i would have gotten the two together for $99.

Blue, I have the v67 and love it....Im curious to hear what the mxl1006 sounds like on a vocal in addition to drum overheads......

i wish i had something to post for you but I haven't even used it yet. im down until i get my new soundcard. tell you what - i'll mic my kit with it and post some mp3s(w/o any eq.) im supposed to get the card this week...but you never know.

the v67 looked good to me when i was in the market for a new condenser but I chose the mxl1006 for its price tag. that and I also know a really good audio engineer that bought two of them for himself. he owns nuemanns and other mics that are like $5000. he's really knowledgable in this area so i figured i'd copy him!

please do leomazz. put up a link. i think we'd all like to hear it!

yeah go ahead and post it so I can feel stupid for spending $200 on the v67:rolleyes:

If you wanna hear how the 1006 sounds on vocals and acoustic git,go to the "Dragon Cave" forum. Go to the "Good times at Peekskill High Thread" last page on LI SLIM's next to last post.
I recorded 3 songs featuring vocal work by dragonworks,LI SLIM and Upstate NY and 6 acoustic gits all played by pglewis, dragonworks, treeline, upstate ny,LI Slim and Hard2Hear.
We used an Octava mc,a AKG and my 1006. The 1006 tracks were
panned hard rite (rite channel) and on the 1st song,"Hey Mr Spaceman",you can hear how the 1006 performs. I was pretty impressed by it's excellent sound capture and clarity! Mind U,this was a one-take, live performance.

If you can't locate thread,I'll post the links!
