Chessrock, you just don't fucking get it.This is not YOUR personal forum and almost everyone but your little spam fucking patrol friends disagree with you.YOU and YOURS are fucking up this forum, not Alan.Where do you get off thinking you are above the opinions of the majority of this forum. If you want to play Hitler go play somewhere else.It is you,not Alan that is becoming unwelcome here by your inability to face the facts! All our opinions don't matter?Read Harvey's opinion about this matter and you are still defending your ignorance? Are you trying to drive him away too?WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

The next time you go to buy gear do everyone a favor and buy a clue instead.

Back to the original post...

The guys at Pro Rec, where you got that review, do a real good job. They are one of the few reviewers on the net who actually will say bad things about a piece of equipment. So, keep reading there. I don't agree with everything they write but they give their opinions, right or wrong.

Class move Oz.I think the deed has been done anyhow so it is time for me to let it go also.I apologize to anyone whom I might've offended by the things I said but I needed to say them.

To follow Oz's mature response and get back to the original post,I totally agree with the review of the 2001p but other Marshall mics get good user reviews here and should be judged on their own. That said,as someone who paid $200 for a 2001p(without a shockmount)when they first appeared,I will never buy another marshall mic.I know they have some very nice mics now but I will not support a company that charged me $200 for that mic. There are too many other companies I can deal with and be satisfied.I would like a pair of small diameter condensers and I understand that the 603's are very nice but I'll just keep using the Nady sd's I have until Studio Projects debuts the small diameters that they have up their sleeves.

you guys are also lumping in Stephen Paul as one of the ones we "ran off"....as far as mic genius goes, hes the man.....but do you guys realize how big of an ass he acted here?....

there are many "pros" that come here and dont encounter any problems with the people here....its because they dont show their ass the way Alan and SP did....

anyone care to point me to some of Alan Hyatt's useful posts that didnt pertain to Studio Projects mics, and didnt spread misinformation about MXL mics.....

c7sus,
I remember that one....
And by the way are you getting the cactus or not? I hope you post your "objective" review if you are :)

"It's a matter of principle in that a few girls around here cry, piss and moan when a thread goes in a direction they don't appreciate."
this may be slightly off-topic (if this thread has a freakin topic anymore), but comments like this certainly don't help the stigma that the recording field is dominated by thick headed males that think nothing of throwing around sexist remarks, even if they aren't intentionally being directly sexist. in fact, the actual girls i've seen post on this forum have been some of the most level-headed and intelligent "newbies" on here.

as far as the alan hyatt thing....my irrelevent 2 cents is this: every post i've seen him make has been well thought out and informational, without ever reeking of a blatant advertisement. of course he's going to stand behind his products if they're brought up, but i have never witnessed any sort of direct bashing of another company and i seem to remember some sort of recent comment of the sort that he's sure marshall mics try to do their best and that they're good mics or something to that effect.

"but do you guys realize how big of an ass he acted here?.... "

Was he worse than you?

Alan was asked point blank to name some other mics that he liked and would use. Among the mics he said he would use was "his Marshall MXL V67G", which he owns and uses.

bas1236,
wanted to send you personal message but your profile doesn't allow.

I posted the song that muzeman has reffered to.
Everything was recorded with 2003 and no effects used except a little reverb over the whole mix.
You can read the thread for more info.

Also just to make it clear, it wasn't recorded to showcase mxl mics. It just was there at the same time as this thread started so muzeman posted the link.

cheers

And in the next post after you pointed out the mistake, he freely admitted it and explained he was tired from working 20 hour days. We all make mistakes.

I really want to believe that. Really, I do. Scout's honor. And if I was wrong about it, then I will personally apologize to everyone on this board for my rude and uncalled-for behavior.

My only problem is that I am afraid that it would be naive of me to believe this. Look, Alan is an expert on his competition. He knows all of their models and how they're built. That is one of the reasons he is good at what he does. I don't think that's a mistake Alan would make, even if he was tired.

He even said he OWNS one. And if you're Alan Hyatt and you own a competitor's mic, don't you think you'd have that thing gutted at some point in time? Come on, people. I'm letting this drop, and I'm sorry for pissing on your picnic, but I'm just calling things as I see them.

I'm merely the messenger. And as the messenger, I understand why some of you want to shoot me. And I can take it. Go ahead and shoot away, Randy. I have no problems with you. You contribute a lot to this board.

Chessrock,I really have said all I have to say on this matter.I see no point in dragging it out any further.I'm afraid that the damage has been done, but I will say this, that except for this matter I have always found you to be knowledgable and helpful to many people. It's a shame that we can't all play nice together, everybody has so much to contribute.

Fed,

Sorry dude,I was so impressed with your sound that I posted the link.

I should have asked first!:(

I certianly didn't mean to imply it was my song.
(Anybody that's heard me around here knows I couldn't sound like that with a U-87 and a Great River behind me!)

Peace,
Pete

Chessrock, I said it before and I'll say it again. You definately have a talent for stirring shit up. Before I meant that as a compliment but after all this you really are going too far.

If you and a few others were able to run off some of the more knowledgable people here I would be pretty dissapointed. There are probably only about 10 people on this board who post anything that is actually usefull to advanced users and you are not on that list.

I dont understand what your hidden agenda is and I have no personal problem with you but your actions can be construed as nothing more than imaturity and selfishness at the cost of knowledge for the rest of the BBS.

I value your opinion, Tex, and I'm very sorry if I upset you.

I have a thread in the Visitor Feedback section where you're free to carry this discussion on if you'd like. I'm not trying to play moderator or anything, but I think it might be a good idea to let this thread die and save the mic forum for mic talk. I'm sorry for my role in stearing the mic forum in this direction.
