I have an opportunity to purchase some bulk TRS individually shielded cable made by Marshall Electric. I was told by a different party that this is made by Mogami, certainly a good cable manufacturer.

If I may, is the above true? If not, is Marshal Electric cable worth installing?

The price is such that if its good cable, I could afford to order the cable, AND a shiney used 16 channel recorder from a seperate source.

Thanks!

If this Marshall is the same marshall as the microphone marshall,
their mics come from China.........
As far as I know Mogami does not do any manufacturing for other companies.
Your best source for really good and affordeable cabling is Gepco - http://www.gepco.com

You'd be surprized how many good brands of cable are actually manufactured by Gepco. You can buy direct from them, for a good quote phone them and ask for Chris.

Some Marshall mic's do use mogami cable. It usually says so on the mic or in the documentation(something like "mogami inside". I'm not sure if the cables they produce have anything to do with Mogami. You may want to dig around their website to see if you can find any info...

Frederic,

Marshall is the U.S. distributor for Mogami... so the "other party" that told you their cable was Mogami may have been thinking about their distribution rather than their actual "in house" product.

Drop an email to Phil Tennison at phil@mars-cam.com

He is extremely helpful and can answer your questions without any doubt.
