boom box recordings
I just got a marshall dsl50 head, the older one with the Drake OT. I also have a DC-5 boogie head. I just did the first mix of the both for a sample. Marshall is on left side and the boogie on the right. I use the same speaker cab for both channels. Sample was made with a Vintech 1272, an I5, and RME multiface II converters with cubase. I only edited in soundforge to bring up the volume a bit.

here goes,

LOVE that sound. Heavy and full. I panned to one side to hear how it sounds as a single track, and it's still big as hell.

You could have listened in mono. I find it alot easier to judge a sound when it is panned centre compared to full to one side.

I know, but since it's 2 tracks, each panned to one side, I wanted to hear what just one of those tracks sounded like. Not the same as the mix of both in mono. :)

I could definitely hear the what I consider to be the inherent graininess of the marshalls. not a bad sound just there sound on the left channel. II used to work at a music store that sold marshalls and they all have "That sound" I don't particularly like it but it has made countless amazing guitar tracks. panned back to center it sounds like an awesome recording. The two slightly different sounds fit well together.

I must be in the minority. Sounds way too fuzzy for me. Although it does sound just like the pro recordings for this type of stuff you hear. Not a big fan of that stuff, but I know the guitar sound and yours sounds just like it, if not maybe a little more "fuzz" to it.

dammit, now i need to buy a boogie. dammit dammit dammit

really, this sounds nice. what flavor guitar and speaker were harmed in the making of this clip? ;)

cheers,

Gotcha, I was thinking you panned the left and right tracks full to one side.

The little clip seems to remind me of Hundred Reasons :)
I like the tone that youve got, possibly in a mix i would put a track of each amp on each side because they sound so different.

The boogie sounds a bit fuzzier and the Marshall sounds like it has a touch more bass. They both sound really nice though and combining the two on a recording will probably yeild some great results.
