Just put up a second mix in the line called, "Man vs Venus". Like I mentioned before, this one falls in the line of final mix versions with time constraints, so hopefully it sits well with most. I don't get the luxury of making the fixes unless absolutely imperative.

input always pleasant. :)

Anyway, check it out and I hope you guys enjoy!

Lee the only things that stands out as an issue are the cymbals in the intro & the death metal bass drum.
The former is a bit loud & effected, the latter just a matter of taste.
Oh, on occassion the dynamics lift but the vox don't quite match the lift.
I like the perc in the bridge.
Another good'un Lee.
Your writing is quite good - the pop punk metal work well.

Lee...I usually don't like or even listen to this genre, but in this case I'm glad I took the time to check it out. Well executed and I like surprises. No nits from me.

Ray,

glad to read from you again! Thanks for the songwriting props. :)

Im feeling so antsy about finishing this one that I'm really taking the idea of bringing down the cymbal chokes with me. I figure I still have a chance to get back in the mixing room and fix that real quick before this hurricane does it's thing on florida.

I figure if I can get away with another good mix before florida goes under, then I can live without power for the time being. Stress free. :D

Same with the vocals, but that's a matter of minor automation.

Valid point about the kick. Not my complete favorite taste-wise, but not something I hate either. If it makes the guys happy, then I can compromise. :D

I'm glad the percussion sat well with you, it was a major pain in the ass to align all those performances to the grid. Drums are my thing, so I don't have a problem working with those, but it got kind of hairy for me once the tablas where added. Let's put it this way, they didn't sound like that before.

I hope to come back tonite with a second version, hopefully you can store this mix in memory and compare once I have the new one up.

great input :)

chazba, thanks for the kind words. I really dig the fact that the song got you in some sort of way, even if it's not in your typical fashion.

Gives me better confidence :).

So is that "touring with spam & velveta" just an inside joke thing, or are you a touring musician? Just curious :)

Another great job Lee. The only critical thing I can say is it's getting pretty close to sounding compressed. Love the end H E L L O !! :D
