Man, sometimes you just gotta say "WTF?"

Thats an interestng concept. Looks like the guy wanted an extra 1/4" string height.

I wonder how it plays.

It looks like something from Timothy Leary's wood shop.

What really freaks me out is that there were six bids. Of course, it finally sold for just $15.50, but that still seems (to me) like, oh, about $15.50 too much! :D

I have the feeling that it would get put down after 10 minutes in your lap. It seems really heavy.

Why would someone do this to a good guitar (and therein probably lies the answer)???

I would buy that for $15.50 Canadian, not $15.50 US, thats like $20 Canadian, but 15 dollars seems like a reasonable price.

The bidding history says that there were only three separate bidders, who were responsible for the six bids. STILL, that means that there were three different people who saw that item and said to themselves, "Man, I'd really like to have one of those."

All I can say is, "What were those people thinking?"

I'm guessing here, but you've said it yourself:
"Man, I'd really like to have one of those."

I wonder what it sounds like!

What more could you ask for? ... vintage formica resonative support chamber, custom fretless fingerboard, and it's an Epiphone!! I mean the Beatles played Epiphones!!!

Only problem is with the lateral resonative chamber braces... man do you see the end grain in those suckers?... No way do those cut it, man... they should be quarter sawn with perfect vertical end grain!! Not curved grained heartwood garbage!! I bet they were installed by one of those poser repair shops...don't they know anything? Definitely requires a 25% price reduction cause those have to be replaced with some fine German spruce for this instrument to be at it's full potential.

Oh, and the first string's missing. Ching ching... another 95 cents off. And I bet it's missing because the first string tuner has a stripped worm gear... ching ching... Definitely don't pay list on this.

Looks like an early Rauschenberg! Maybe it's modern art? If Rauschenberg can put a violin in a cement bucket, what's worng with an Epiphone in a box!

I think the Epi was involved in a tragic accident. The doctors did what they could, but they were unable to save the lower bout. The only option was a prosthetic.

Poor Epi :(

So it's a guitar with a disablility...

So what? I'm sure it doesn't want anyone's pity ...just a skateboard to get around on. :D

You will find them on some cheaper 60s and 70s models. Have seen a few, but yep, someone else could have put a different neck on the guitar who knows???

Taylor uses the bolt-on method. I believe Fender acoustics do also, at least they did in the past.
