I listened to "Da 4hr song" and I have to say that I'm not really into a song that is basically one note the whole way through. Mind numbingly repeditive. Why does dance music have to be that way! Anyway enough about the song, its not my thang.

The mix sounds pretty good. I mean for this kind of music its good. Don't like the funny kinda lets fade in over a second and of we go sort of thing you did. Sorry.

Listened to Misinterpeted.

I agree with the single note thing, but your sound is great.

If you changed chords some and varied the production,it could be really great.IMHO

What synth did you use?

Really fine recording for a first try, just mix it up some.

Best to you,
Pete

Thanks for the feedback!!

The synths I used were mostly the Triton LE and Novation A-Station!!Also some soft synths!

The only sample in Misinterpreted is the beat, the rest were all played by myself!!

Da 4hr song is a differrent story!!

Cheers G

since I knocked you off the front page...

misinterpreted:

It's what the kids are calling "booty Shake"... Yeah, I could hear this playing in some 23-year-old's Honda Civic with the subwoofer engaged. Not really into this stuff, tho, to be honest. It's very clean... and doesn't sound like some kid threw it together.

Why not throw a few dance parties, and slip this into the mix? Or trick some DJ somewhere into playing your stuff? This should do o.k. in the clubs, is my guess. Sounds like stuff Madonna would shake her can to.

Sorry there's no more to offer ya. Maybe stick some voice samples in for fun. Cheerzz...

Ok ... phew ... this is pretty mind numbing .. he.. he ... :D
I listened to "Misinterpreted" ...
It's hard to listen to this without blinking lights and mirror balls :D ... I guess it sounds good for what it is ... but I don't know enough about this type of music to critque it ...

the mix sounds pretty well balanced to me ...
cheers

So this is your very first dance mix heh. Pretty damn good mix. What style (I hate that word genre) of music did you do before this your very first (and well mixed) dance music. I have a sneakn suspision youve done this before. Or you fluked a good bunch of presets. Not many people like the style of music, which is our honest input. But nearly everyone likes your mixing. Unfortunatelly there doesn't seem to be any dance music fans here for you. Good luck with the Dj's, hope they take it somewhere for you. And if your just going with the flow then I hope you don't become a sheep. But I have another sneakn suspission that you dig dance music. So good luck with it and go with your heart. Who would have thought that a bunch of us would comment so positivelly on a mix with a style of music that we don't really dig. Thats input for ya.

Dear Scott,

Thanks for your input!!

To tell you the truth, I was in a metal band quite a long time ago!!How's that for a change!!Then I discovered computer based music and never turned back!

Started making chill out/ambient music then!!

About a month ago I purchased quite a bit of gear including a Roland Vs-2480 and a couple of synths!!

And I never said I didn't dig dance music!!:)

Thanks again
G
