hey guys,

decided to have a go at making my own samples from my own drums to use in drumagog! im quite excited cause i have on ok snare sound finally.. its not amazing.. but its the best snare sound ive ever managed to get so yay!

now my problem is this, ive only taken one hit for each drum. what is the best way to get different hits for different dynamics?

must i go back and record soft/medium soft/medium/medium hard/hard hits? and then put them all into the same gog? if so, how do i do this?

would appreciate any help! thanks! :)

Yes, you need to go back and record soft hits, medium hits and hard hits. You should also record multiples of each, so the same sample doesn't keep getting triggered all the time.

All you do is record the samples, cut them up, press add from file and add the samples. Then select the samples one at a time in the sample window and assign them to a velocity group. That's it.

awesome farview, thanks a lot!

how do i go about adding them to a velocity group? or will it be pretty self explanitory once i actually go look at drumagog?

I believe that Drumagog calculates the velocity and groups them for you.

First you go to the samples window and hit the 'groups' tab. Then you pick the number of groups you want to have by clicking 'reset'.

Then you drag the lines around to determine the level of each group.

Then when you add the samples and select one, you will see a bunch of stuff pop up on the bottom of Drumagog. Those are the settings for that sample. You wil have to do that with every sample you put in.

It would be much easier to go to www.rock-drums.com though...:D
