I just want to know this: I've got a Mackie cfx-16 mixer, a sampler with 8 outputs and a D.A.T.(Sony DTC-790)...When I finished my final mix and recorded everything to D.A.T. with the tape output(cinch!!) of my mixer. Is this D.A.T. tape then ready for making a vinyl record???
(I hope I made myself clear...)

vinyl is a lot different than cd's to make...
one of the big indie music sites has resources on making 7"'s for punk bands, which isn't exactly what your looking for, but that will have the info you want

Ehm, yes, and no. You wouldn't just chuck the DAT player into a vinyl-engraver, theres a lot of magick involved inbetween with vinyls. But however, the people professionally making vinyl will do this for you.

You probably should let it be mastered too. If the vinyl-making company doesn't do that, a professional mastering studio is probably a good idea.

What kind of music is it?

Well...It is instrumental Hip Hop...There are not supposed to be rappers on there, 'cause there are too many samples in it...
I knew I still had to master it in a studio, but just wanted to know if it was ready for mastering(I suppose I could have phrased the question differently, but I am just writing this as I go along, and my English is not that good) Actually, I always thought I needed an ADAT or a Digital Input to my DAT to be able to master it in the studio. But now I know better...Thankx REGEBRO!
