making a song in sound forge

i can import a track
but how the hell do i rap on it?
i bring up a track to record the vocal
but when i record i dont hear the track
and only one window plays at a time

how can i play the beat and record
is this program a multitrack recorder or not?

No it is not. Soundforge is a stereo file EDITOR, not a multitrack recorder.
