when recording a demo to send in to labels how many songs are usually on it? And should they be short?

I'm a pop/RnB singer btw don't know if that matters lol

As a general rule (there are always exceptions) sending recordings to labels won't get a listen. If you can find a manager with connections, then you have a better chance.

^^^What David said. ^^^

Has a 'label' asked you for a demo?

Oh but don't you need music to get a manager too? Lol wouldn't they want to hear something before they agree to becoming your manager? Sorry I'm noob lol

Get the book Songwriter's Market. It will list which record labels accept submissions and how to submit. Covers a lot of other stuff, too.

Will it tell me how many songs I need a as well? Lol

Yes :D

But seriously, each label has their own requirements. The big boys require you to approach them through an entertainment lawyer. One of their choosing. :(

Hmm, now you got me thinking. My songs have moved up from hideous to unbearable.... maybe I should send some to the labels as well...
Nahhh
