So I've been trying to help my friend find an analog recorder, and we found a TSR-8 in great condition, except for the pinch roller was completely melted(as i posted about yesterday). We took the roller and soaked it in natured alcholol and cleaned all of the tar off. Then just for kicks, we wraped around the wheel with eletrical tape until we reached the exact thickness of the old rubber. I wasn't expeciting much, but it ended up working perfectly. He ordered a new wheel from tascam today, and of course will use it when it arrives, but this little guy makes a great backup in a pinch.
