Make You Mine Again

Hi everyone,

Like many of you, I have been very busy with professional obligations this summer. Consequently, I have not written much for the past six months or so. The few songs I started weren't working and remain unfinished ideas... until now.

I finally finished a basic demo for a new song yesterday. The music and lyrics are finished and I am working with a local keyboardist to improve the song, and replace the "jamstudio sameness" that we've discussed.

I have received very helpful ideas on lyrics here before, so if you'd care to make any suggestions, be my guest. It's a mid-tempo song, BTW.

I'll post an early demo in a week or so.

I have been so busy, I forgot all about re-doing Story of Lies.

The story on Story of Lies (and it's definitely not a story! -- heh) is that I want to redo the vocals and the instrumentation a bit. All of my songs are simple one or two take demos. I can do better, I think. The demos were recorded just to get the idea down, and my equipment was relative rubbish.

I really do appreciate your interest in the song, but the vocal sibilance on it is terrible, so it would be a waste of time for you to work on it. When I record new vox for it, without sibilance, I am definitely interested in you engineering an alternate version of the song, if you're still interested.

I with Idol on this the metre is really tight and so easy to read - the challenge will be to bring that oragnic tempo to the melody and arrangement.

Nothing negative in here for me; good strong images, epic without being cliqued and I like they way they build a visual narrative through the verses.

Great opening couplet.

I like the 'Trial by storm' imagery a lot and would like a rich illusion to this in the Ch - is there anyway to use the metaphor further in the Ch rather than the direct language that it has?
