what is this?
I know some of you have ordered guitars through AMS or sweetwater, etc... I ordered an LTD EC-1000 today but they are out of the hard cases for the indefinitely. How do they typically ship out a guitar if you do not order the hard case? I'm just a bit nervous...:o

Mine have always come packed fairly well in the original triangular-shaped box from the factory, and that peanut-packed or bubble-wrapped (or both) inside of a larger, rectangular box.

Get a Carvin.

I worked in the factory for two years, and I can state from experience that they are of the highest quality.

One of my jobs was destroying guitars with defects. I would be handed a crate of guitars. I would take off the hardware and then cut them into three sections using a 1.5 inch bandsaw. The body was destroyed, along with the neck in two places.

I often asked, "What is wrong with this guitar?" Then someone would show me the slightest blemish or mistake. I wanted to keep them for myself instead of destroy them, but the owners wouldn't let me. They said that once it had the Carvin label on it, it had to be perfect.

I've owned Carvins. They are as perfect as a guitar can get, and a hell of a deal for the price.

You cannot go wrong with a Carvin (note: I haven't worked there in years, so I have nothing to gain by recommending them).

same here.

kavekong, why don't you marry apl?

A big reason I am asking is that it has been raining for at least the last 5 weeks here and it is humid as all hell. Could this affect the guitar at all or do they come packed good enough?

if you're that worried about it, spend the extra couple of bucks and buy it from a local shop. as a bonus, you'd get to play it and maybe hand pick it before buying.

Yeah, I shouldn't have worried... She arrived just fine today, getting ready to plug it in right now!! AWESOME looking guitar, lightweight and the neck feels great! :D
