yo.. kewl.. but since it's rane, it's gonna cost twice as much as it's supposed to..

I have to make sure that we all stay abreast of the new and innovative equipment. ;)

RAne Fader

Has anyone tried pouring Coca-Cola on the fader ? IS that supposed to clean it ? or are they just showing how thier faders can take a licking and keep in clicking ?

1) That would KILL somebodies fader. ;)

2) Nope. :)

3) Yes. I went to their site. The picture was just trying to convey how well their faders were constructed. ;)

peace .....

I haven't tried this Rane model out. (Even if I had it wouldn't matter much because I'm not a turntablist.:)) But I 'm very familiar with magnetic potentiometers. They've been used in robotics and instrumentation control for quite some time. They're incredibly reliable and no human hand is ever likely to wear one out.

The particular type used in the Rane is not the pinpoint accurate kind used in robotics, and it may even have slightly less positional accuracy than a regular contact fader, but I doubt you could notice. Definitely worth trying out.

I've already looked into putting one of these in my next generation mixer - after I finally finish the first generation.:D

HA HA! Yeah...that's pretty bad. :D

Amazing the things that will turn people on!!???

Like my "magnetic potentiometer", do ya?

Well then, if you're ever in the Bay Area, stop by Intel and I'll show the pump and probe beams on my Picosecond-Utrasonic-Laser-Sonar equipment... otherwise know as my PULSE tools. :p :o  :D :D
