Magnet Danger?

I have a big cabinet with two 12" speakers. I would like to set my recording gear on top of the monster but I'm concerned that the fields from the speaker magnets might have an effect on my tape decks.

Does anyone know the safe distance between speaker magnets and tape?

You'll want to keep magnets and recording gear as far away from each other as possible.......... it's not just the heads, the tapes themselves could be affected.
