I'm thinking of buying Magix Music Studio - Generation 6.

I record one instrument at a time (guitar, bass, vocals). I'm interested in adding drum samples, loops, other fun stuff.

Is this software a good place to start? Would you recommend something else?

Read the review at Computer Music Magazine

At computer music magazine's website they reviewed Magix G6. They hated it. They said performance was crap and that it did not live up to earlier versions performance. I have Magix Music Studio V2000 Deluxe. Two versions earlier than G6. It's limited to 16 tracks and it won't work will all plug ins. G6 , I believe has some plug in incompatibilities. Just two cents worth, Silver

Can I thank you now?

Before I read your post, I bought Magix at Best Buy last night. Brought it home, and the CD wouldn't load.

I'm not exactly brimming with confidence in the product at the moment.

I also just bought Music studio 6 deluxe at Best Buy, but hav'nt opened the box yet... geee, may be I should return it now. Reason I got this one is because for the price ($59), it seemed to have enough tracks, editing features especially the noise gate etc.
