mackie ms1202 - "mic ins" are high impedance inputs? can i connect a guitar there?

I've being reading that, in order to use Amp Simulators, i need to have a very good signal, and that i should connect my guitar into a high impedance input to archive a correct sound.

i don't have a DI-BOX, so do i have to use a (1/4 to XLR) converter and plug the guitar in the mic input ?
 
nope. youll get an impedence mismatch.
with respect suggest you get a recording basics handbook.
you will need a DI box.

just do it, if it sounds fine good if not try something else like a DI box

I good one btw is the groove tubes ditto
 
well, that's the problem. that i don't know how should sound the guitar.

So, i can't tell if it's ok or not.

Maybe with a sample or something, a could be able to match the tone and see if my guitar sounds ok, before putting that signal into an Amp modeling software.
