Mackie monitors or Sennheiser headphones?

I'm trying to do the best I can to monitor and mix my own stuff with a really low budget. I can't afford more than $200 right now, and I'm working in an untreated room. Through craigslist, I have the choice of a pair of Mackie MR5s or a pair of Sennheiser 598 headphones. They're the same price. Any recommendations?

By the way, this is for the short term, while I work to save up for room treatment and some Adam A7s. In the meantime, I need decent mixes.

I'm sure everyone here will say get the monitors. I'm also sure everyone here is right. I have never mixed with monitors, but that has been an economical issue.

If you don't have to wait that long to get the A7's & some room treatment I say stick with headphones. But for that money I wouldn't get those phones. There are better options for the same price that are brand new & intended for mixing. Those appear to be for casual listening. Research it a little bit more before you buy.

Sennheiser HD280 are pretty good quality for the money.

+1 last two posts.
No point buying two sets of monitors.

If you're sensible and maybe check on a hifi for stereo image, hd280s will serve you well enough for now.

I agree also you can get a pair of HD280s used for about 60 bucks on amazon in great condition plus they have a solid return policy.
