that's an onyx 32-4. the 3280 is around $4500.

My vote is this.

I don't believe the onxy has "real" direct outs..???

Could be wrong

For $1999.00 you can get the 24x8 there too, but $300 for 8 more channels.
I'd go for it.

If I had the bucks I'd have this. I want a ghost but will likely never have the moola :o

lol yeah a ghost would be nice... i dont get it though.

EDIT: read link better its factory resealed .. thats why its less money

if you find a good price on zzounds, chances are it won't be in stock any way. it seems that they like to pull you in to their site with low prices that they can't deliver. just my experience.

Ya it's the same board just alot cheaper because it
s a factory resealed package so it may have been a demo or return, but should have full warranty. I dont' like reasealed stuff much but for that kind of money I'd give it a shot;)

Travis: Never had that problem with ZZsound. Says it's in stock, but I have not dealt with them alot either.

The two most important questions you need to ask yourself are:

Do I need eight busses or four busses?

Do I need a compact mixer or do I need a larger format mixer?

Once you've answered those two questions then you'll know which mixer you need.

I have to correct my self. I forgot that the onyx had bm15 or what ever plugs on the back for direct out's. I have looked for premade cables for them and have not been able to find them.

Had my hands on an onyx the other day. I know the pre's are supposed to be nicer than the vlz I have but I had to read the name to know it was a mackie. Sure doesn't have that feel or mass to it of the older boards. If it's going to be studio only the more fragile feel does not bug me as much as on a live board, still does some though. If the pre's are that much better I would have to consider it seriously.

Not shure of the fader length. I'm going to have to look.

I would certainly figure in the cost of direct out cables or the firewire interface when considering the onyx either way about it. If it's going to be studio only the more fragile feel does not bug me as much as on a live board
