sorry, this has kinda been covered but I'm still unsure how I would use outboard effects with a Tascam M35 board.

Lets say it's a delay / reverb effects unit (because it is) how and where do I hook it up so I can use the effects pots on each channel to set the amount of reverb.

thanks.

The 8 X 2 sub-mix system on the right side of the board can be used during mix-down to act as an effects send component for the 8 main tape tracks and it's output can be injected into your reverb processor's input and then the reverb's output, back into the stereo mix-down via the foldback inputs to the stereo outs of the board.

Cheers! :)

thanks ghost your always helpful.

so.... so... ummm so cool I think. But I read that half a dozen times and I still can't visulize how I'm actually setting this up, I hate not understanding this basic stuff. :(

the 8 x 2 submix section on the right can be used during mix down
...
Are you refering to the 4 busses or the master channel section? Also for my own unique reason I want to print the reverb so this isn't a mixdown situation as such.

Okay, lets say I'm running 6 mics and I'm using the outs of the 4 busses to connect to a 4 track for recording. Now can I use my reverb unit as a 'global effects' kinda thing and use the effects pots on each of the 6 mic channels to dial in the amount of reverb I use on each channel?

and it's output can be injected into your reverb processor's input and then the reverb's output, back into the stereo mix-down via the foldback inputs to the stereo outs of the board
. yeah sorry this still isn't gelling with me...

My apologies.

I was under the wrongful mental impression that you had an M30 mixer and now on a second read of your original post, I see it is an M35 mixer which is fairly different in it's lay out.

Please disregard my initial post in it's entirerty. :o

Ordinarily, I have a rather large database of pictures and documentation on older TASCAM gear on my computer but a recent rash of horrific luck saw both of my computers falling to motherboard/power supply failures and I lost 60 gigs of personal files that were not backed up on any other format.

I am in the process of rebuilding the data and will get back to you shortly with better advice and information.

In the meantime, perhaps someone else can step forward to help you out.

Sorry to hear that ghost. Stupid computers; just last week I had the same thing happen and lost a ton of digital photos and personal stuff. We're thinking of sending the drive away to one of those recovery places to see if we can get any of it saved. All very sad.

Yeah that would be great if you could have another look at this when you're up and running again. (no hurry)

thanks again.

bumpity bump bump bump.
anyone else familiar with the M35?
