Im only going budget, Is this worth getting?
At the moment my recordings are 48KHz which is a nightmare, Need something better...
Might be a dumb question but im only new to the game, Is thie Full Duplex?
Any Info will be worth having,
Thanks,
Simon

i'm a puter engineer. wont use usb. too many musicians have probs with usb.
get a delta 44 and put it in a pci slot.
i'm assuming your a pc user and not mac. i'm not a mac expert.

I've owned a Transit for about a week.

It was a nightmare. On my laptop it would work for like 30 seconds (with clicks and pops) before it would lose sync completely. On my desktop I could get it to work to such a point that it would click roughly every few minutes. That's still not good enough for recording. You need to be able to trust your interface and it was clear that I couldn't. And mind you that I bought it for mobile use so it didn't really matter how it worked on my desktop.

M-Audio makes nice products (I am a very happy Audiophile user) but the Transit isn't one of them.

I have a laptop, So I need something that would go with it, What about the MobilePre by M-Audio... or anything you guys would recomend?

Cheers Simon

to draw an analogy using usb is like trying to run 100 tracks on an
outdated p1. aint gonna happen. to much DATA VOLUME.
usb just cant handle the volume needs of audio.

I'm new to this and fear I have just made a big mistake. I bought a laptop system with an M-Audio Audiophile USB interface, to this (problematic?) device I have attempted to conntect a Behringer Eurorack (UB1204) into the 1/4" Left/Right inputs of the Audiophile. Is this a useless set up, and will it work or is USB really that useless?

It depends. You could get lucky and have it work fine for you.
It really depends on your motherboard's implementation of usb

parj - try this.
dont use ANY other usb devices SHARING the usb bus with your sound.

I assume USB sound interfaces work for some people or else they would have been taken off the market by now.
I just don't think that anyone should take the chance.

That's about the size of it. There's generally nothing wrong with the device itself. It's like any usb device - doesn't work in your machine but take it to your friend's house & it works great. It's one of the world's great mysteries why it should be so
