I was in the process of asking this exact question wednesday night around 9 p.m... then a tornado came along, and knocked out my power... for 22 hours

Prior to convincing myself to ask the question here i did some research and noticed that the both have a few commonly reported problems (although nothing that seemed incredibly serious. like john myung popping out of the input jacks and tackling you or something dangerous like that). Mainly that there is crackling/popping through monitoring (headphones and monitors). and that the projectmix doesnt have -10 pads. it made me sad. see > < thats me sad

but to be fair, every product has some with reported problems and some that work fine.
I seemed to find that the mastercontrol had better reviews. and a lower price

I ended up deciding to get a discontinued tascam fw-1082 used... then i changed my mind again and decided to get a tascam us1800 and a steinberg cc121
