In case anyone is on the same page I was.
We hadn't brought our new I/O into the studio yet and had it set up at our house to burn in and check for bugs. First we installed everything on a newer g4 laptop, hooked up the I/O and wallah we were online. Next we took the G4 800 iMac from the studio (OSX 10.2.2) and already new we had to update the OS to at least 10.3. The iMac is the main computer at the studio until we upgrade. Since I didn't own 10.4, I downloaded the 10.3 upgrades from Mac then loaded the M-Audio package and uh-oh. ProTools wouldn't see the PM I/O. The control board firewire driver was getting audio from the PM but nothing in ProTools. WTF! Well after some searching we found out 10.3-10.3.7 will work just fine but the auto-update from Mac takes you up to 10.3.9 which PT has a problem with RE: PM I/O. Solution, 10.4 must be your OS. Presto, everything is fine now. A couple of days losing my hair but thought I'd post this for folks in case they run into this wall.
