Hey...

I have a Delta 44 soundcard, but I need more inputs so I can record drums on several tracks. I consider buying another Delta 44 soundcard and that way get 8 tracks. But I also consider buying M-Audio's Omni I/O and connect it to my Delta 44 and gain more inputs that way.

What do you think would be the best solution for me? Have anybody tried the Omni I/O?

Greetings,

I've got one with a delta 66 card but I'm not sure how you would expand to 8 channels with it. Sounds fine though for what it is (think it's pres are the same as the dmp2s which are supposedly the same as dmp3s.)

..man må jo håbe at du har mere held herinde end på AAGE's forum, hehe..

@Strave: Are the omni used in addition to the breakoutbox or is it connected to the card instead of the box, and is it still 4I/4O..?

The omni i/o only has 4 inputs, which basically means you are just adding 2 preamps with it and the ability to have aux ins, inserts, etc. The delta 66 with 6 inputs has the other 2 (digital spdif ins) on the sound card itself so the i/o only takes care of 4. I'd just try and save up for a delta 1010 and then you're set.

Yeah the Omni only replaces the breakout box... it really doesn't add any channels.

OK, then I'd probably go for an additional delta card or a card with more i/o..
I don't think thet the pre's in the omni box is better than any other preamp in connection to the delta card..

They say they are DMP2s in the manual... or something... they sound fine. I'd go for the 1010 or aardvark Q10 or something if you want to expand

Alright.. Thanx for your help evrybody.
I found a Delta 66 and Omni I/O for about £ 200 (used).

Weird problem with Delta omni i/o

Hi,
I have the latest driver versions installed already.
I am able to record via the quarter inch sockets (piel cable) in both pre-amp channels 1,2 .
but when I conect XLR cable with sm-58 or condencer mic I get nothing...
It happend all of a sudden.

Is someone familiar with this? , I'm frustrated... I bought it second hand in a great condition, and it use to work flawlessly until today.

appreciate your help.

Ziv.
