m-audio mobile pre

i have a couple setup questions. i installed the drivers that came with it, its all hooked up, i disabled my old soundcard (should i do this or doesnt it matter?) and i got things to record with it.

my question is, how do i playback audio on my old standard speakers with the mobile pre? i tried the stereo line output but that doesnt seem to work.
 
well, they actually work now but very quietly. i assume this is something to do with my speakers not being self powered...but why did they work setup to my old soundcard and not this one? i would like to get them to work with this one if at all possible so i dont have to use 2 soundcards for recording and then for playback.
 
also one last question for future reference. im one of those people who always leave their computer on . would it be ok to leave the mobile pre connected to my computer all the time night and day? thanks in advance to anyone who answers my dumb questions.
