Hi,

First of all I want to apologize. I know a lot of you have already seen to many threads about this. But as a newbie I feel the need for some experienced users help.

Hi need to record saxophone. Just the saxophone.
I've used a xenyx x1204 usb, and it was ok. I've sent it back because it wasn't mine.
I've also read some post about a mixer not being a good idea for the first gear. In fact I agree that it has too many functions that I really do not need, and I also would like to have a more portable interface.
I've read about M-audio fast track. Is it now Avid Fast track? is the quality the same?
In the price range up to 150€ whats your advice? and what's the main difference between this products? witch one is the best one?

Avid Fast Track Solo - Thomann España
M-Audio M-Track MkII - Thomann España

Any advice'
feel free to change this thread to other place.

Thank you very much

What about the Focusrite Scarlett Solo...same as 2i2 but with only one mic channel and a line channel. Is the quality the same as the 2i2?

Thank you

Get an interface with at least 2 mic preamps. Really. You may think that one is fine for sax and will do for you now, but at some point in the future you'll be wondering how it would sound with a close mic and a room mic. Or some othe scenario will happen where 2 mics would be better than one.

Anyone have any advice on how the m audio m track solo compares to avid fast track solo with pro tools express? which one would you say is a better device? i don't care about the software.

Yes the same quality - it's the same unit but with only one XLR.
