M-Audio Fast Track 2 MKII USB Audio Interface

I bought one of these this week. It works with my dynamic mic but not my condensor mic. I have turned the Phantom power on but there's little else I can do. I read it's predessor needed a PSU to supplment the USB power, so I bought a PSU - Unfortunately, this new unit doesn't have a PSU input so the PSU I bought must have been labelled incorrectly.

I'm using Ableton Live and an old Acer i5 with 8G RAM.

Is there anything I can do?
 
What condenser mic are you using? Has it worked with other interfaces? Unless it's something unusual it sounds to me like you Fast Track is defective.
 
Does the 48V light (next to the XLR) come on when you turn on the phantom power?

If so, the only other thing I can think of is a fault with your XLR cable--otherwise, I'd return the Fast Track MkII as defective and ask for a replacement.
