Hi all,
I ended up buying a maudio duo. I'm having a very hard time getting it set up to run on my laptop. It's a toshiba pIII with XP on it. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to configure the soundcard settings? Please help, I'm going nutzoid here.
I'm using ntrack right now, but I'm certainly not against buying something else (cakewalk, etc) if it's any easier to configure. Does anybody have any experience with duo/laptops (thats LAPTOPS, not LAPDANCES, lol). Please share your wisdom with me before I go postal.
TIA,

Jenny Arnold

The best thing you can do with a Duo is burn it or use it as a paper weight. I still couldn't find the proper way to use.

i had the m-audio duo but i sold it on ebay and bought a tascam us-428 so i don't really remember how to set things up

but i do remember the following:

upgrade to XP service pack 1 if you don't already have it. the initial release of XP has a bug in the USB that causes pops and clicks.

the duo does not do direct monitoring so the latency of your laptop will affect how soon you here what you've recorded playing back through the duo.

i was also getting spurratic noise while recording. the noise would last for about 4-5 seconds.
