M-Audio DUO question re: monitoring/headphones

I have a USB Duo. It records fine, and plays back fine. I can listen to the playback through my headphones, but I can't figure out how to get it to play what I am recording while playing the track as well (in the headphones) so I can monitor what I am recording.

I've messed with the driver settings and havn't come up with a solution yet.

Nothing complicated. Just Cool Edit Pro 2.

i've never used Cool edit pro, but most all software programs have the same features, the just look different.

what you need to look for is some sort of button on the track or a menu somewhere called Monitor or something. this will allow you to hear what you're playing through the computer. some programs use a picture of a speaker on the track to indicate this feature, other programs have different buttons. try rolling your mouse over a bunch of buttons to see if a little pop up dialog comes up telling you what it does.

sorry if this doesn't really help that much. maybe someone else here who uses Cool Edit extensively can tell you what button it exactly is. Good luck.
