Hi. Has anyone compared these two preamps? Which one do you think sounds best?

Are the DMP3 preamps the same ones that are in the Octane?
If so, I vote overwhelmingly for the Onyx pres. The Octane sounds good, just not AS good.

Well........ I went to a friend's place to do a comparison between his Onyx and my DMP3. But we got involved in doing some recording, (go figure) and ran out of time for the test. Having used both, but not comparing them side by side, my guess is that the Onyx pres are a little better. (but not by a lot)

I agree as well. I have tried both and the Onyx pres sound better to my ears. Although the DMP3 is not too bad. Word.
