Delta 10 10 works greatDoes it have a place to hook up your audio from a CD player
I have cakewalk pro audio 9 and i use the delta 10-10 and i have no conflicts at all. No latency problems and the midi ports are in a good place fro easy access. When i record 48kz with 24 bit it sounds just like the person in the room, very clear.
I would suggest getting a Ulta DMA card with a 40 gig drive for extra space and the DMA card to transfer the information from hard drive to computer for the simple reason of (DROP OUT).The DMA card will speed up the transfur time .
Does it have a place to hook up your audio from a CD player?
Yes it does! As long it as your CD has a SPDIF out,
1st! The delta 10-10 is made up of 2 cards. The 1st one gets pluged into the computer in one of your empty card slots. This is where you have to open up your computer and put the card in. It is on this card that you have 2 out puts.SPIDF in/out ,2nd The 25 pin contecter going out to the break out box or the 10 ins,10 outs. Which in turn are your analog in/out puts.
Your CD player will have to have a SPDIF out,It looks like a small square hole in the back of your cd player and if you remove the cap and look in to it you will see a small red light THAT IS A OUT PUT believe it or not ,Its' also called a optical out.
You will need a converter ,Which I have and problay would part with it for the right price with a fibre optic cable . It's made by midi man called Co2 .It has optical in/ out- and coaxial in /out those look like RCA jacks.
Now we'll put his all together:
Go from CD's player optical out to midiman's optical in. then from midiman's coaxial/RCA TYPE JACKS/ out to the Delta card that's installed on the back of your computer coaxial in/SPDIF in
set you Delta mixer program to receieve from your SPIDF in's and you got it made.
The reason i bought the the converter was i have a recordable/portable mini disk which most have a optical in and out /same port and I wanted to transferr my sounds INTO and FROM cake walk WITH OUT ANY IN LINE NOISE and no HUMS form analog conecters or bad grounds. It does sound wonderful and works great to . I can record a song in cakewalk then send the song to my mini-disk with out ever going through my anlog out puts and vice versa. It's just another way for Higher High Fedelity .And probaly would part with it for the right price.Drop me a line.
