Hey guys, I've been out of the loop so please inform me. Anyways, i'm about to pickup a Soundcraft mixer (Folio) and I need a soundcard to go with it. Right now I've been doing recordings on an audiotrak 8in/8out with a cheap behr. mixer. I think it's time to step up to the plate. At first I was looking at getting a Digi 001, and having the ability to use Pro Tools and Cubase (i'm a cubase user), but I just read on the Digi site, after 6.4, there will be no more support for 001 users, scrap that.
I've narrowed my choices down to the Delta 1010, or the EMU 1820. The 1820 is cheaper, and seems more featured packed. I have always gone by the saying, you get what you pay for..the 1820 is cheaper than the 1010. Any reason? I am kinda weary that it is a product from Creative, and they usually make mediocore products at best IMHO. I'll never be recording more than 5 or 6 inputs at a time, but I like the option to..so unless there are any other products out there, what would you guys choose? I'll be using the soundcraft for the inserts..Does anybody think that either soundcard will just sound better quality wise?
