Guinea Pig
I recently purchased the M Audio BX5 monitors for my home set up, and i finally got them working after HOURS of messing around with them (Seemed such an easy task..how i was wrong!) Now, when i play something through the speakers they are perfect, until around 2 minutes after continious play where they start to buzz like hell!

I have no idea why its doing this? Im using the M Audio Delta 1010LT sound card, and theyre hooked up via RCA - TRS cables.

Please help!!!

What sort of buzzing? Like a bee, or more like static?

It seems to be more static. If i pause the track then unpause it straight away it stops immediately. I have just purchased some high quality cables to see if that was the problem but it seems to be just the same. I have no idea whats going on?

At a guess it's more likely to be you PC maxing out.

Have you tried playing the same song through other speakers?

I use a Mac G5, so i would say its highly unprobable that its maxing out. Its more in one speaker than the other. One has perfect sound and the other has constant "hissing". They both still buzz randomly though, its really annoying me!

So if you swap the speaker cables around, does the same speaker hiss constantly?

Try new (balanced xlr) cables
if that doesent work, then go swap out for new speakers.

Yes, it does. You think its the speaker itself thats messed up? :(

It would make alot of sense if the speaker is messed up. But what do you think is wrong with it to make it hiss like that? Its like an untuned radio!
