I just wanted to know if Protools will work with the delta1010, 66 or 44. I really don't want the MBox or the digi001 or 002.

Anyone know if this is possible?

Well thanks...I've read on here that it will work another soundcard. You know which one?

Unless it's ProTools Free (which only works with Win98), I believe you need the DigiDesign Hardware interface to use PT.

Yeah, PT will only work with the Digidesign hardware,

BUT,

You can use your Digidesign hardware to playback audio from other programs (e.g. Sonar, Cubase, etc.).

Might be where you got confused.

Ok.... so what do the digi ASIO drivers do?

Able the digi hardware to be used with other programs?

correct....that's what they're there for

I heard the other day that as Avid (Digidesign) own M-Audio now, they've announced future compatibility between M-Audio products and Pro Tools.

Yeah but...

I talked to M-Audio tech support today and confirmed that Pro Tools M-Powered will not work with multiple interfaces, and they don't plan to change that for obvious reasons (read: money). So if you're running multiple Delta 1010 units like me, only one will be supported.

Aaahh, whatever, I was just gonna get it so I can say we have it, and to be able to import projects and such. I'd just have to go back to running 8 inputs again, which is more than enough for the hip-hop crowd that wants it.

Meanwhile, I'll be running 24 tracks into 3 Delta 1010s, into Cubase SX...

... through our new Soundtracs Topaz 24X8X2 (woohoo!) Sweet, sweet pres, English EQ, great visual factor for studio tours (it's the size of a Buick).

Now if I could only find the time to get away from the band and lock myself in the booth... :)

Sorry for the hijack, I'm just stoked...
