M-audio 2496 midi in not working

So I have my roland vs 1880 pluged in through spdif in/out and midi in out/ and for some reason i cant get my delta (m-audio) control panle to recongnize the spdif and i cant get the midi in to work, midi out works just fine but midi in doesnt
any help?
 
The delta has to be slaved to SPDIF for it to work (under sync), the VS also has to be sending as a master. What makes u think that the midi in does not work?
 
Thats just the problem i am having. the program that i use with my 1880 was made just for the vs series (its called vs pro) During sync it can seem to find the 1880 unless i use the 1880 as the slace, then it works...but i don't wan that. I cheked the troubleshooting and it says that on sound cards a lot of times midi in does not work due to some tecno mumbo jumbo crap about the card adress...but thanks for the help with the monitors, if you got more keep it coming
 
Well if the midi out works, then the midi in should work (same interupt). The delta has the be slaved to a master to receive SPDIF
 
how do i slave the delta, i know how to make the 1880 my master but i cant figure out how to slave the 2496, you know by chance?
 
under hardware settings in the taskbar utility you have to set your master clock to spdif in
