Hello all, I'm not sure if this was something for here for the sound card category, but I figured I'd give it a shot here. I have both of these at my disposal and am wondering which one you would prefer over strictly based on the sound/converters. though i've never direectly a/b-ed the two through my monitors, i haven't noticed a huge difference between the two...but i'm not sure if i was paying close enough attention/experienced enough to hear the very subtle nuances many of you could. not to mention i'm not very schooled on quality of convertors from company to company. any advice would be much appreciated, and please keep in mind, input capability and what not doesn't matter at all, just concerned about sound quality. if this helps, the main preamp i will be using a GT Brick. Thanks!

Are you sure about the "M audio 192 HD"?
I know the audiophile 192, but it hasn´t built in pres, it´s only ad/da converters with midi and coasts 5x less than presonus "firepod", which has eight pre amps.
But...Could be the "firebox"?
if is, the firebox has some advantages over the m audio audiophile 192: phone outputs and mic/line preamps (altough you have a GT mic pré, probably (or certainly) better than presonus prés).

Try "Computer recording and soundcards" too
good luck!

yes, your right it is the audiophile 192 (sorry i'm at work and i haven't had that thing hooked up let alone used it in quite a while). but the other is a firepod, 8 pres and all. like i said, the pres aren't any concern of mine at all, but i'll try the soundcard forum. thanks!
