Will someone please reccomend the Lynx card that is best for my interests? Price right now isn't a problem, about 2,000 is my topping point. I want to get a Lynx card after hearing how it is literally the best internal interface card available. I would like about 16 ins, and I would like to possibly be able to route it back to a real mixer to mix hands on. If not possible, then cool. I would like 16 ins for sure though. I'd be recording local bands and my own. Thanks a lot.

You can get 16ins if you get 2 lynxtwo-C you'll have 12 analog ins and 2 stereo AES ins. You'd have to buy 2 standalone converters, if your looking for an efx box you can get the rumour and a mangler which also has stereo analog io with spdif connectivity.

2 lynxtwo-c's new will run $2050@ www.mercenary.com

2rumour's or manglers is about 1k new.

holy crap that's a lot of dough to drop on a homestudio. what kind of high quality preamps and mics to you have to match the lynx? A sweet soundcard and a shitty preamp wouldn't be a good match

Lynx is about to ship the Aurora which comes in two versions

Aurora 8 - 8 channels in and out suggested retail price of $2195
Aurora 16 - 16 channels in and out suggested retail price of $3295

These are external units, which is better overall on signal to noise.

If you want to stay in the box, teachers reccomendation is very cost effective for convertors of this class.
