Hi,

This is my current setup: Ksm 44, Joe meek VC3, Tampa into Fostex MR - 8 .

I need a reverb, and I have a deal on a lxp-15 for 350 dollars (including shipping to europe on ebay).
However i see you can get the mpx-1 for nearly the same price (without shipping).

I AM in a hurry cause the seller for the lxp-15 is waiting for payment. Will the lxp-15 drop in price til it's value is next to nothing?

Is the mxp-1 better?
Is it stupid to use 350 bucks on a reverb in the first place? Should i just get a lxp-1 for 100 dollars?

Thank You, ANY help will do
What would YOU do?

Considering I have a Kurzweil KSP-8 amongst others, I'd have to say no, it's not stupid!

I have both an MPX500 (essentially the same as an MPX-1) as well as the LXP-15 II... you wouldn't be disappointed by either - and each do have a different sound - the MPX-1 is slightly brighter while the LXP-15 II sounds generally warmer. They each have different strengths - but I think the LXP15 overall is less versatile -- I pretty much use it as a one-trick pony, the MPX units have more flexibility, IMO.

It's not stupid to spend $350 on a reverb. It is possible to spend quite a bit more than that on reverb. :-)

$350 seems a bit high for the LXP-15II though. I've seen them for less than that. I personally would go with the MPX-1.

Also, when buying gear don't worry about whether or not its value will drop. Just buy what you need.

And to be sure, your gear *will* devalue (usually). So don't even make it a consideration.
