LX20 won't reinitialize

Does anyone have any idea why my LX20 won't reinitialize? I hold down the Record and Play buttons while turning on the power, but instead of reinitializing, it doesn't even come on. If I just turn on the power (without holding down the Record and Play buttons), it powers up just fine. It's been acting a little flaky, and the owner's manual says to reinitialize the software first.

Review options 1 and 3 in table 1. Check the LX20's soft power up reference in option 1.
