luring people in by house parties

lately I've been taking the stuff from my new band and playing it at house parties so other people can hear and say those famous words "yeah I've heard that song before". and it seems to be working. I've got 2 bands that want to record their stuff after they've heard my mixes. there have also been people that have said "what band is that? that was pretty cool". so now that i've lured them in, I get to record some new stuff and take in new ideas. this wasnt a question or anything, i just wanted to let people know that this strategy is working. it also helps that their kinda drunk. anyone have any other strategies for luring customers?

depending on your music style go to open mike nights. wait for an artist who you like to get up and sing. after they get off stage tell them you write/record. what i started doing with female singers is not speaking to them until the 3rd time I've seen them. that way they've seen you before and won't think you are a pervert just trying to get on.

ah, parties are great, little underground live performances too,
i always have business cards with me, i don't give them away just like that,
most of the time people ask my email address or so, then i got a card ready


even barbeques kick ass .... if you go to a place where's lots of people you don't know, just play a cd after a few hours, when people drank something,
and ask the guy next to you: "like it" ?

and then the shit is on, people start talking, and there is always a guitarist amongst the crowd

everywhere i go there are guitarists;..hehe;.... but now its the trick to find the ones that also play in aband !

going out and making personal contact is so much more important than building a website !

You could turn that advice around and look at it as a good way of picking up chicks, actually. For those of you who are single and can do that sort of thing, that is.
