Ok, not my style of music, but one thing I notice is your drum track... definitely turn that down a bit, maybe send it back a couple ms or so, maybe some reverb to keep it less "canned."

Is that a vibrato on your voice? It's making me think something's wrong with the streaming audio... something weird about that sound...

2:24 that acoustic plucking... I'd keep it turned down just a bit...

Can't hear the sax too well... at least, right after that guitar part...

Kinda sounds like music to a John Waters movie... :D

Thx for the Listen.
I Guess I have some work to do. I appreciate the comments and if you get a chance to check out some others . that would be great. Do you have something posted? The feedback really helps as I am new to recording

Yes, unfortunately I do post our stuff up here...

:D

www.mp3.com/high-tide . I'd probably go with the advice of others that listen to your song, I'm a reverb nut...

But the songs are meant to be spiritual, you may dig listening to 'em.

I listened to Find my Way......It is Soutern rock you have it down right. Some good players, Good recording It beats sitting in the room by yourself Marshall Tucker .......Florence AL...I am in Tuscaloosa Al but I am a Florida Gator ..I am a bit more into a different style but l like it all.. Try out Shadow of Heaven If you don't mind and let me know if it is any better than the last. Good luck

Joe

Kinda like the tune, and it could have a good feel to it. I agree with Kelly, the main thing holding it back is the cheesy drum sound. The mix is decent. I also think the vox sound a bit strange... not sure exactly what it is, but they need some help. Sorry I can't be of more. :)

oooooooooops. I think I DID listen to "In the Shadow of Heaven"...

! :( !

I'll check out "Lump of Coal" here in a bit, also some of your others...

Ok, lessee here...

Sax sound generally good, a little loud @ :56

@1:05 just right (maybe more on vox)

right before 2:00, there's a little sax blurb

same w/ 2:06...

2:13, vox discrepancy...

I think the mix is alright, it's pretty bass heavy, but that lends itself to the mood of the music. The double vocals works well (maybe other than that 2:13 thing), you may consider compressing them just a tad so that when you start running out of breath (how i see it)...

sheesh, gotta go, leave w/ carpool.. you get the idea, i'll get home and elaborate a bit

Thx Kelly
Thx KaBudkan
THe sax is a Gr30 which is kinda difficult or me to stay in control. I am a real novice at the recording level and feel more comfortable writing than I do engienering so it makes a big differencer when I get advice to correct and relook things. I am not in a circle of people who can help in this area.
I think you guy's are reviewing Shadow of Heaven? not lump of coal? (no sax part in Lump of Coal)
KaBudkan if you have anything Posted I would be happy to take a listen and comment. Kelly I will listen to another of yours after work today
The vocals are not being processed except a little reverb. If you hear the same problem on the other songs help me figure out wha is wrong. I am using some reverb but not much and singing into a condenser Thx joet
