Lullaby Project

Hello All!

I am trying to finish a CD of lullabies before my baby boy comes in August and I need some opinions on this mix. All of the songs on this album are similar so if I can get this one to it's best point then the rest will follow quickly. Any tweeks suggested would be greatly appreciated.

The song is called "Little Dreamer". It's fourth on the player list.

Too much reverb on the vocal? Not sure, maybe lullabys need reverb.

Really well performed, and great vocals. Is this an original? Nice job either way. I'm sure your boy will love it.

This is an original lullaby. Singing isn't the easiest thing in the world when you are 7 months pregnant but I think it turned out all right performance wise.

I posted this song on two seperate recording websites and added the reverb per another suggestion on the other site. I'm not sure if I like all the extra reverb. Maybe I'll go somewhere in the middle betweeen a lot of ambience and dry.

How bout this mix? "Little Dreamer2" track 5. Less Verb.

Good perfomances here. Much more tasteful than the crummy bedtime cds we had for our kids.

Personally, I liked the heavier verb on the 1st track "God rest you..." (Ye?) vs. Little Dreamer2. If ever there was a time when excessive verb was appropriate, I would think it would be a slow lullaby...more soothing....now, I'm off to take a nap...

You know... I didn't even think about the verb on "God Rest You..." as a possiblility. I'll have to do a mix with those settings and see how it sounds.

Here is a version with a Reverb similar to the first track (God Rest You...) on the player. It is somewhere in between the 1st mix and 2nd mix as to the wet feel of the Reverb.

Also, where do you usually like to peak volume wise before you send out for mastering? Do I want it as close to 0 as possible or should I leave some head room, maybe at a -1 or -2?
